Soon after leaving the Monastery I reached a milestone of 100 000 kms, and I still have a little ways to go.
The Monastery was a super nice place to stay at and you can stay as long as you like and it's free and the monks were quite chatty at breakfast and very welcoming. I regret not staying another day, they need to start brewing beer like real monks.
Was a bad choice to go north not having my visa but knew it was a gamble and now am at the best lodge so far and can only stay one night as they are booked up tomorrow. Murphy is always lurking around me, quite unbelievable. Got to the Little Afrika Lodge at 2pm and had a chicken and rice lunch which was one of the best thus far. One night, three meals and three beers = $37.
On the way up had to stop for an overturned bus which had 48 passengers on, luckily no fatalities, and earlier I saw a tanker truck over a small cliff upside down. All the trucks are so overloaded and the roads are bad and the drivers have no experience, just a reciepe for disaster. Twice today had to move off the road as two oncoming tankers overtook and can see me but don't care and just flash their lights at you, as if you can't see them ! Flashing your middle finger doesn't help either.
