GHANA - TUOBODOM DAY 253 202km

 IVORY COAST TO GHANA  🇬🇭

Ambled around this morning instead of leaving early knowing I had a border crossing and only left at 10am.
The Ivory Coast Immigration officer refused to put an exit stamp in my SA passport which I need if I use it to enter the next country. After forty minutes of pleading with him I left and entered Ghana.

He was kind enough to give me his patch from his uniform. Ghana officer.

These are the two IC officers that refused to stamp my SA passport, which other countries have done before.

At least they all speak English which makes life a lot easier and were all very friendly and professional and had big guns. Anyhow after explaining my dilemma and quite a few top brass got involved they agreed to let me enter with my SA passport and were very understanding. They ask your profession and full out "clown" and then they ask " what does a clown do ? "  I am just a clown in their circus, but they are just doing their job.
The Ghana guys are real smartly dressed and nice offices and computers and printers even gave me cld water and a mosquito net from USAid. The Passavant took over an hour to get and cost $3. At 1:30pm I was able to leave and the roads are bad so it was slow and then the speedbumps and police stops, it took forever to go 202kms.
Finally arrived at Kristo Brause Monastery at 5:30, just in time to have a quick shower and then had dinner with the monks. Nobody speaks the entire meal, one monk read some scriptures while we eat. There was no beer so only staying one night. The room is small but very nice with a bathroom, towel, soap,tp, and comfortable bed with a fan, and they have wifi.

Weighed myself at the customs office and weighed 100kgs with my kit on, removed my jacket then 95kgs with my boots👢 and 👖 on, so without those would be 90kgs.
