Left early and the road is perfect, Chinese are just finishing it up so got here in good time and found a hotel in the centre of where all the embassies are, basic room, only saw one cockroach. Went to Congo π¨π© Embassy for visa but was complicated so decided to get it in Gabon and would be a lot easier.
Walked down to get a Sim card, 2.5MB for$2. Met a Greek guy on a Africa Twin who took me to the Gabon π¬π¦ Embassy and I gave him info on the Congo Visa which he didn't know so was real happy and off he went.
So they have a dress code for the Embassy, long pants, shoes and long sleeve shirt of which I had neither on. So as I left I saw some guys sitting on the pavement and asked if I could borrow their pants and shoes. So the one chap took me to his guard hut which was right across from the Embassy and logged me out. Went back and the guard let me in Γ nd asked them about entering Gabon and they said "No problem for South Africans."
Then returned the clothes and walked back to the hotel. Had a good meal at the fancy hotel a block away and could finally use my credit card, but stuff is expensive here compared to the US.
