Charles and I went down to the Ghananian Embassy and they confirmed that SA passport holders can enter free of charge and get the visa on arrival. Charles from Canada has to pay $200 for his visa. Then went to Sierra Leona Embassy and he got his visa, I already had mine, and then met a bunch of traveller's there while we waited for hours.
Hassle, Charles's friend drove us in and being a local was easy to communicate and he has the gift of the gab. We then went for lunch where the portions are always big and had fish and rice, nearby where they had a catastrophic fuel depot explosion about a year ago, and was unreal to to see the all the buildings damaged, others totally gone.
We were in downtown the whole day and I only got back at 5pm, the traffic is something to be seen, glad I was just a passenger and could enjoy the sights and driving techniques.
Was going to change my oil and leave tomorrow but it did happen as it is Xmas day now as I write this and just finished changing my oil and is to late to leave so will do some laundry and leave at first light tomorrow to beat the choas.
The pigs also like the beach cause there is lot's of garbage to scrounge through.Taken from my patio.
Charles and I finally met after trying to connect since Morocco. We have leapfrogged each other and now we were finally in the same place at the same time. He flew his bike from Toronto to Paris and then his plan was to ride to Cape Town, but now is going to bail in Ghana and ship the bike back home. Canadian's can't hang, that's a joke, but the difference between a Canadian and a canoe is another story.
So will see him again I guess in Sierra Leone or Liberia as we both head that way tomorrow.
