Slept till 9am and then scurried down to the bankand exchanged $380 into Rubles, thought I had more cash than that on me but apparently not. The lady at the reception told me not to worry and I don't need to pay if I couldn't get any money, but luckily it worked out, they were so nice about it .
Finally left at noon and theweatherr has been blue skies, no wind or rain which has been great to ride in. Pushed on to Kem, 140 kms more than I was planning to but needed to make up for all the delays cause it's a long way to St. Petersburg.
The town is run down and all the buildings are in disrepair ànd old and lots of abondoned buildings, quite surprising. A taxi driver had me follow him for 14km to the hotel, the local town roads are very bad, you have to go slow cause they are so bumpy and poorly built. Got to the hotel and then he left and got a room and went to the restaurant for a Cod and salad dinner which was very tasty for $7.
PETROZADOSK DAY 125 421 km.
Left at 7 am on the long and endless road, like yesterday just dense forests on either side of road the entire way down from Norway. The E105 road is in excellent shape and has a clearing of about forty foot on either side which is well maintained and is the natural wild grass, no stones or stumps so give you a good view ahead if there were any animals around. Never did see any roadkill or animals alongside the road which is strange for twelve hundred kilometers.
Arrived at the campsite which is on the lake at noon and got a cabin for $15. Unpacked my panniers and washed them as I had some mould in one of them and did all my laundry. Went a leisurely walk along the promenade and is just like anywhere else in the world, people all out walking and talking and young couples cuddling on the park bench and old parts hobbling along with their wives and kids playing on the lawn, there's a war going on ?
