Got a Heidenau back tyre for $432 and left for road 35 into the Highlands. After the Gullfoss waterfall the road turns to dirt and it was wet and knarly and slow going, halfway up I stopped for a wafer thin toasted cheese and ham sandwich and then continued on.
Stopped at another tiny waterfall where there were two cars and the one guy started to chat to to me and he lives in Kenya and the an Italian lady asked if she could take a photo of my bike for her daughter who lives in Goma, Congo and she lived inn Ivory Coast for decades, so was pretty weird .
We all stayed at the one and only campsite and the Italians invited us for pasta dinner and we had quite an evening and gret to hear these people's life changing stories.
