FJAERLAND, BØYUM CAMP DAY 109 367km.

It turned out to be a wet day, and a long one.
Went on E16 to 13 N the E16 NE through Fĺåm to Aurlands then over the old pass 243 where it got down to 5*C but a beautiful scenic ride which goes over the longest tunnel in the world, 24km I believe.

     Aurlands from the viewpoint below.
Then took a 100 km trip to Eidsbogarden which was a waste of time, maybe less clouds and rain and the view may have been amazing.

The guy looks as puzzled as me as to why I  rode 200 km to see that !

Did a big loop back to Lærdalsøyri and followed 5 to Fjærland where I got a room 8ft x 6ft for $43, when they said it was a small room I didn't realize it was that small but it worked. The scenery everyday is stunning and the mountains are so impressive how they rise so steeply and just solid rock with numerous waterfalls from such heights, have never seen anything quite like it. Over every mountain and through every tunnel there is a spectacular vista awaiting you. Food is expensive here a 500ml beer is $3.40, biscuits are $5, fuel is $3 a litre and a litre of milk is $4.50. I bought some pasta and sauce and mixed it up for dinner, quite impressed at my cooking skills. The food I brought over for Iceland is all gone now so am going to have to dig deep to make dinners for myself. Wish I had paid more attention to when my Mom cooked, although she sure cooked the hell out of Cauliflower and Brussel Sprouts, it just boiled for hours it seemed, but with the ash from the cigarettes dropping in occasionally didn't hurt anything, probably gave it more taste.

    My room for the night.
From the campsite, on the left you can just make out the glacier.
