Flying into Doha at night was a stunning spectacle of the cities lights as we came into land flying above the ocean and the city on the right.
No hassle about having an airline ticket out of Germany which was surprising and when I entered Germany I told them I had a bike there and was leaving on it and they didn't require any proof like in the past.
Ernst picked me up at the airport in Munich which is about an hour from his home in Augsburg where he was kind enough to store my bike and get it serviced and put me up in a flatlet for a couple of days. His house was built in 1545 and is a beautiful four storey building.
Augsburg dates back to the 1500's and is the third oldest city in Germany. The main street is a block away and is a mile long with and bustling downtown area where we went for lunch and dinner..
SUNDAY 5th of MAY 2024
Organized my panniers and got everything reorganized and in the aftenoon went for a ride and had coffee at a nearby town. It's been six months to the day since I left Munich for Cape Town. Am thinking of leaving tomorrow for Calais and may visit some friends in Belgium but need to figure out if it's on the route or not.
Don't know why I can't rotate some of the pictures, Las time I could. Now it is so much quicker to load photos, will try figure it out when I get some time.
