Could not use the road that continues south as it is in bad shape, so had to go west for a 150kms then south on a fun dirt track through the mountains and farmlands for two hours. Then back on tar for another 240kms to Lubango.
The temperatures are a lot lower now than last week and makes a world of difference, from 36* down to 25* C.
The people are very enthusiastic and friendly waving and giving you encouragement, they just love big bikes I guess. Stopped at the end of the dirt section and was swamped with people wanting photos.
Found a real nice spot with a big rondawel which is lovely and spacious with secure parking for $30. Went next door for a steak dinner and some cold draugjt beer.
Tomorrow I will cross into Namibia and stay in Ruacana, last time I stayed there was 47 years ago when I was in the army and did a few stints there and was in an armored car driving around everyday hunting MPLA terrorists.
