On my way at 5:15am, maybe one of my earliest starts, was still dark and by 6am it was light and safer to ride.
The RN 1 is a real good Chinese road, well maintained but as you enter Ponte Noir you have some of the worst roads in a city I have seen, and traffic is slow and all over the place to dodge holes and mounds and missing man hole covers, you cannot believe it. Got to the ture store and they did not have one for me so departed through the chaos and headed to the border.
Congo Immigration was fairly quick and easy with no issues and friendly officials.
Then it is 100kms more to Cabinda where I found Hotel Dellaz for $43 a night .
