AINSA, SPAIN DAY 151 286 km.

ANDORRA TO AINSA IN SPAIN   286 km.

Another gorgeous day and Raul took me around Andorra and we met Pedro for coffee and then headed to Spain over a pass tarred all the way to Spain, but from Spain all dirt down the otherside into Torr with spectacular scenery.

    ANDORRA
The police have no crime here so are very helpful and friendly.

RAUOL still showing his love for me......

A 10 feetfrom here is the Spanish border.

Basically did a huge circle from where I entered Spain yesterday, Rauol took us on numerous dirt roads through the mountain passes with small villages. We ended up going to Chia and then over to Plan and stopped iin Ainsa for the night. The Pyrenees have been magnificent and was great to see Andorra where evrything is so inexpensive, fuel only €1.22 a litre compared to France at €1.79.

DAY 500 80 703kms. 57 countries

BAGNERES-de-BIGORRE    FRANCE   28-9-24

The wind blew all night and my mattress must have a slow leak, so was not the best of night's. Got out of there at 8am and it was just a commute all day on toll roads.

Went up Col de Tourmelet which was the reward at the end of the ride and then went to the Saint Vincent Hotel and my ODO was on 500.

SAINT MARIES-de-lar-MER D952 DAY148 269km

D952    ROUTE DE CRETES VARDON

Castellane is another typical tiny French village how I envision them, à few bars and restaurants. The BnB ŵhere I stayed was pretty decent and well equipped with a comfotable bed and big windows for € 67.

No rain today just some high clouds and some blue sky. The trip through the Gorges was quite impressive  and ended in a village on the side of a mountain with a church way up the mountain which I should have walked up to but I can't look inside anymore churches.

Then it was a dash. Too the campsite and nothing to see ,all flat and normal I guess. Met up with Detlef the German guy I mat in Edinburgh and then later stayed at his place en route to Denmark. He is on his way home from Spain so was good to catch up over a meal and some beers.

This was the fourth picture he took after I rejected the first one and asked if he could not cut off our feet and not cut anyone off, I gave up. How hard is it ?

The campsite itself sucks, no grass and packed in like sardines, the campervans are maybe six feet apart, and it is full. €28 for me to amp and the ablutions were borderline, toilets with no seats !

LEH. 23 TO 27th August 2025

Have been held up here due to the rain and snow in the mountains and passes. So have just hung out in the room most the time and ventured ou...
