ISLE OF MAN DAY 32 TO DAY 38

 DAY 32     144km.           3rd JUNE 2024

The campground is full and the snoring at night is quite unbelievable but was awake at 5 and then went and showered and the facilities are pretty good with a huge dining hall where you can hang out in.
Rode north to Ramsey and then to the south down to Port Erin where I met Valerie who I thought was the gal from the radio station so we had coffee and she left and never mentioned anything about the radio interview.

    PORT ERIN

I checked my phone and realized it was the wrong person and the got hold of Chanelle a South African that works at Manx Radio and had written to me months ago about an interview. So  I ended up at the radio station and did the interview with her.

I then went to the paddock and found the only South African racing in the TT, AJ Venter and hung out with them for hours chatting. Got back to camp and had cheese and biscuits and a beer for dinner.

Tuesday 4th June   DAY 33

Raining, so at noon the announced the races would start at 6:30 pm. I rode around the track and it was dry until I got up north and got caught in showers and headed to Ramsey for coffee and lunch. Then continued on to Creg ny Baa where I sat alongside the track to watch the race.  They did a warm up lap and then they cancelled the race cause there were some wet spots.

WEDNESDAY 5 th JUNE    DAY34

Left at 7:30 and rode around the track to get to Victory Cafe which is up on the mountain and a fast section. The wind was howling and I was feeling, it was seriously cold . Waited about three hours for the action to begin and met two groups of South Africans while sitting on the hillside. Was a good spot cause it had a sligh chicane and then you could see them head up the hill, changing up as they went, a beautiful sound.
After the first race it rained and they cancelled the races for the day.
Had to wait about two hours to leave as they have to place hundreds of cones to slow the bikers on this section and headed to the paddock when it did open.

THURSDAY 6th JUNE   DAY 35

Went to Creg Ny Baa again to watch, where you sit rigjt on the track. Watched the bikes there and then after that went to Ramsey as I needed to get wi fi for a call to the US. Saw the side cars there and was a good place where they have to make a sharp 90 degree corner, so it all worked out except they cancelled the Supersport bike race because of rain. Took the coastal road back to the camp then chatted to a couple of Germans and Uwe from Switzerland till the wee hours.

This is the road when it is open to the public to try and control their speed. Last week five tourist bikes died on the roads .

     CREG NY BAA
    RAMSEY
FRIDAY 7th JUNE     DAY 36    CANCELLED

They cancelled all the races today whic was a big mistake cause it was dry till 2 pm and they could have  gotten at least two races in.
I went to Peel then to Ramsey again  and had some Cod for lunch and then waited out the rain at Costa coffee shop again.
My visor broke off  earlier in the week and today my peak broke off, the other side broke a year ago when I was in Romania and the guy that owned the camp spent hours fixing it , but now the other side is kaput, BMW junk helmet, only two years old.  So Arai as a stoe in the paddock so went and bought a helmet £ 699.
Went to Douglas where the Red Arrows had a lame air show. They flew over the bay but so far away you could barely see them or hear them. The Blue Angels put them to shame, luckily that wasn't cancelled !

    PEEL
