DURNESS to JON - O - GROATS to LOCH NESS DAY 11 to DAY 13

SHIELDAIG TO DURNESS  321km.  DAY 11

The road hugs the coastline for the most part and was a scenic ride on the narrow road that has bump outs for oncoming traffic every 200 meters. Durness campsite overlooks the ocean and was packed with campervans and motorbikes.

DURNESS BACK TO LOCH NESS     DAY 12  416 km.

I was up at 4am and it was already light but was to early to leave so went back to bed. The road to Jon - O - Groats was all along the coast, stopped at Dunnet head which is the most northerly point of Britain, but it can't be. Met two Canadian cyclists and they gave me a route through the mountains which was a nice change and then after that was boring back to Loch Ness to the same campground.

LOCH NESS TO EDINBURGH  DAY 13    314 km.     15 MAY 2024

Was a good ride through the mountains and valleys , quite scenic for the most part. Got to the campsite and they had no place for tents so had to travel another 45 minutes across town to another campsite which has been one of the best so far. Met Felix a German on a 1200GS and he shared his bread, meat and cheese and I got the beer and strawberries.
