SWEDEN DAY 46 435km.

Well the bike did not start and had to jump it. Henrietta asked her friend Pia if I could bring the bike over to see why the battery is not getting charged, and found that it is the stator that is not working.

They were unable to help me as they didn't have the parts or the time to do it. So I asked Ölle if I could come up to his place and then at least the bike is there as I fly out of Gothenburg on Friday and then can have three days to sort it out and he was fine with that.
So I packed and folded all my laundry which is all up to date, what a relief to have everything clean. Loaded my bike and waited for Henrietta to return with her friend so I could get a jump start. Was able to make a quick call to Charmain and then Justin called, he is in Japan and wished me for Father's Day, funny how when it's Mother's Day that she gets all the nice gifts and I get didly squat, but you never know, it may be in the post.

I thought I would just try start it for shits and giggles and by gad it started, so go figure. So off I set to Sweden, in the wrong direction at first but turned around after about 15 km's and went in the tunnel and over the Øresund Bridge into Sweden at Malmo.

         Disclaimer   not my photo

Was able to get to Gothenburg without switching off the engine, except it stalled at a circle and luckily it fired back up again. Luckily I have a spare key and was able to open the tank with it and get Benson, otherwise I would have been screwed.
I met Ölle in Romania last year at a Horizon's Unlimited meet up and he invited me to his place and here I am. We had a nice meal and beer outside on the deck and the sun was even shining with blue skies and no rain.

COPENHAGEN DAY 45 85km.

Thankfully it didn't rain in the night and was able to roll up with nothing being wet. As I was about to leave a Dutch couple invited me for coffee which hit the spot and then was off to Copenhagen.
Was only like 60km and I was in the main square and parked my bike on the square. I asked a lady if it was okay to park there and it was not allowed at all. So went to move it and the battery was dead, so I took of the covers and looked , at what I don't know, I tried starting it and it fire0d up and so Iiuu7u7 switched it off and thought all was well,so left it there and I walked around the⁹9 city.0uI

Really enjoyed walking along the shoreline with some beautiful buildings and neat architecture and a huge Opera House. Saw the Mermaid and lots of people around, Metallica is having a concert today and a big soccer match.

    OPERA HOUSE

    BUKA BAKERY

Got back to my bike to leave and go to Henrietta who I met last year at Jungle Junction in Nairobi last year and then shared the container to Oman. Battery dead again, ended up asking a taxi driver if he had a charger and he had one at home and went and got it while taking a customer and brought it back for me.
Bike fired up and he left again and I was chatting to a guy from Dubai who knows a guy I know there and I climbed on the bike and accidentally hit the gear shifter and stalled the bike. Have never had that happen before ever. So then he tried to push start me but that has never worked, so I waited to see if Taxi man was going to come back and he showed up and I repeated the procedure and carefully climbed on and off I went.

Henrietta is a half an hour's ride which was good so hopefully it charged up the battery ,will know tomorrow. Got to her house and I have a nice bed to sleep in and then she made a traditional Danish meal, Smòrrebrod Stoerneskud which was excellent with a beer. Stayed up till 1am chatting about travel plans and trips .

GERMANY DAY 43 & 44 619km to WISCHHAVEN

Jose made me a lekka Dutch cheese sandwich and a yogurt  for breakfast and then at  7:15 am was heading north to Wischaven to Detlef whom I met in Edinburgh last month.
With my phone not being able to charge from the bike I had to navigate the old fashioned way. I ended up in Amersfoort and decided to go to the BMW dealer and have them check out my ignition issue and the mechanic remembered me from last year. He advised me to change my front tyre aswell because it wore very weirdly, so did that aswell and then continued on to Germany.

Did 619 km so about seventy more than Google told me but I took some wrong roads but arrived after 9.5 hours at Detlefs house.
He made me a delicious meal and he didn't even eat and man I was hungry and dehydrated. Had a shower and hit the sack.

15 June 2024  DAY 44    414km.

Came down at after washing up to a nice German breakfast and then left to Gluckstadt across the river and had to take a 30 minute ferry. Went to a phone repair store where he opened it up and cleaned and dried it and now it is working again thankfully. Can't believe how much I depend on it.

Got into Denmark at like 4pm and had rain on and off all day, had a big weather system move in and got a little cold. Got to Svolsky campsite at 7pm and got the last spot and set up my tent and had a pizza and beer for dinner, bloody awful frozen pizza.
