Went to Jökulsärgljúfur National Park to camp and went on a hike by the river at 8:30pm in my slip slops which didn't work out to well walking over lava rocks. When the lava cools to quickly it creates amazing rock formations, hexagonal pieces and all the small rock hills are like that in this area.

DENMARK TO ICELAND 23 & 24 th JULY 24 DAY 81& 82
A German couple camped next to me and parked the bike right by my tent when there was 500ft open all the way down, clueless.
Stopped at the bakery for a bite and then headed to the ferry and it was packed, school holidays unfortunately.
Cabin is really nice and clean and a well designed bathroom which was a surprise and all on my own. Ended up at the upper deck lounge on like a sofa where you gaze out of huge windows towards the bow of the ship. I slept most of the afternoon, had dinner which was decent buffet then went to another small lounge and nodded off there all night.
24 th July 2024 DAY 83
Woke up at 9am, that's not happened in decades must have sleeping sickness or something, almost missed breakfast.
Sat upstairs all day and saw a few whales and met a guy that showed me some roads I shouldn't take. Stopped at the Feroe Island and unloded cargo and passengers and then loaded more passengers and then took off again.
FEROE ISLANDS AT TOSHAVN, THE CAPITAL
Dinner was the same food as last night, lots of fish and they keep bringing you beer for some reason so fo €40 it's not to bad.

DEPART SWEDEN TO DENMARK DAY 81
After a short sleep I showered and organized my gear and bike, have brought a bunch of food for Iceland which filled my 35L pannier and quite heavy with trail mix, energy bars, dehydrated food, 2kg of Pronutro and some noodles and soup, so should not go hungry.
Said my good byes and Olle escorted me to the ferry which was about 15 kilometers away and got the 12:15 ferry to Frederikshavn, Denmark. ($144)
USA TO SWEDEN 20 JULY 24 DAY 79 - 81
Arrived in Frankfurt at 10 am, Lufthansa served up decent dinner and breakfast with metal cutlery on the 9.5 hour flight from Denver.
Flight to Gothenburg was delayed an hour maybe due to the worldwide IT failure, luckily I got out of the US as there were over 1500 flight cancelations.
Got to Gothenburg but my dry bag with all my gear did not ! Annette picked me up from the airport after I filled out my missing bag report which took forever. Had a delicious Salmon on dried tomatoes for dinner with Ninni the neighbour and sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful sunset with much laughter and beer. I could barely keep my eyes open at the table and know I nodded off for a few seconds a few times but was not caught and then recovered and enjoyed some strawberries and ice cream.
SUNDAY 21st July DAY 80
Olle got home around 1pm after a night camping with his grandson. Was informed my bag was on the 2pm flight so we headed to the airport only to find out that it had not arrived, so back home we went.
We all then went for a swim in the lake which was 23*C and a 28*C scorcher of a day in Sweden. Went back to the airport at 7pm and my bag was there thankfully.
Had tomatoe soup and with bread and cheese outside on the deck for dinner with a few home brews from the neighbour and only got to bed at 1:30am.

TRIP TO MONTANA USA 21 June to 19July 2024
Flew from Gothenburg, Sweden to Bozeman, Montana for a friend's birthday and stayed with my son. Had a great time at the 80th birthday festivities at Glacier Park and played some pickleball and drank a few IPA's.
Lake McDonald , Glacier National Park
Then went back to Brandon's house where he had a few projects for me and had to change my flight cause I wouldn't finish them.
I ordered a new Klim riding suite and boots which are supposedly waterproof, so have a complete new outfit, from head to toe.
Was fortunate enough to get to Yellowstone Park and the Beartooth Highway, but was caught in a storm on the pass and almost froze to death watching some sheep on the summit.

To top it off a friend gave me a brand new Garmin Montana 650, my one got wet and is worthless, comforting to know I will be able to find my way home eventually. Am anxious to get going again, have been loitering around for to long, enjoying the comforts of a home and being spoilt with home cooked meals and fine restaurants and the best beer.
The Raven on Flathead Lake.
